My approach

Know. Experience. Become.

If we work together for coaching this means I will be supporting you by teaching actionable skills and as well as providing accountability. This is not therapy.

Therapy is an introspective journey to uncover barriers in the way of your success.

Although it’s true that therapy doesn’t come with any guarantees, working with a mental health therapist can help clients feel happier and more confident in both their personal and professional lives and relationships.

One instance of therapy being effective is famous tech billionaire Chamath Palihapitiya’s experiences. According to Time Magazine, “Palihapitiya credits therapy for helping him overcome psychological turbulence and making him more clear-eyed.”

My sessions provide a safe space for you to process experiences, deep dive into personal topics, explore situations in a nonjudgmental space, role playing, express deep emotions (tears, pain, sorrow, etc.) which others may not understand, feel heard, and share important personal “wins.”

In response, my goal is to provide support in breaking irrational patterns, validation and insight into all of our discussions, helping you transform. To aid in that mission, I sometimes assign homework, an effort to show my clients how to truly work through their issues both in and out of the office.

I am a guide, teacher, someone who will gently challenge you, and your biggest hype man because I want you to thrive.

I am eclectic, however, the modalities I predominantly utilize are a mix of:

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

  • Solution-Focused/Brief Therapy

  • Holistic Approach (mind, body, and spirit)

  • Client-Centered Approach

  • Mindfulness

  • Psychodynamic

A bit about me

My family is full of high achievers. My grandfather was regarded as a religious and spiritual teacher; a guru. His legacy lives on with the founding of a Hindu temple in Palo Alto, California. To him, religion and spirituality was a way to foster community, while also being an important tool in discovering our best selves.

Most of my family members went on to become creatives, doctors, professors, and entrepreneurs, but psychology has always been my calling. As a healer and supporter of others actualizing, I’ve always related to my grandfather in that way. I have similar beliefs and feelings on how to support the human condition, and I always saw his vision as impactful.

A few years ago, I started my career in the trenches of San Francisco and New York City as a digital marketer in the start-up scene. Working as a Chief Marketing Officer at my company and later as a consultant for other start-ups, I successfully managed six figures advertising campaigns, led a robust team of marketers. Most recently, I sold Psych Nest, the company I founded.

While being a successful entrepreneur and executive had its moments, there were plenty of days where I wanted to hide under my covers. My phone would buzz with endless tasks leading me to procrastinate and feel guilty. I remember feeling worthless; while dealing with a breakup in my personal life, grieving over the loss of my grandmother that same year, and disheartened that my career trajectory wasn’t moving quickly enough. This led me to feel miserable and defeated.

After doing my own personal work with a psychotherapist I found myself on a journey to healing and later pursued the career. You can read a bit about how I overcame my break up here.

Now, as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in California, I’m able to take my diverse learnings from the business world and translate them into my unique psychiatric perspective.

I understand how important work can be on a personal level, acknowledging the stakes for not reaching your goals, grappling with self-doubt, and feeling stuck while trying to remain above water. I am dedicated and determined to help you identify your hardships and overcome them.

Clinical Experience: Working as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License #123091) for 6 years, I’ve gained an immense amount of therapeutic experience. I’ve worked with children, millennials, grandparents, and veterans from various racial, cultural, sexual, and ethnic backgrounds. I’ve also helped individuals who were previously institutionalized, as well as those who are at locked behavioral centers, crisis residential facilities, and outpatient office spaces.

Education: As an undergraduate student, I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from San Jose State University. Upon graduating, I went on to receive a master’s in counseling psychology from National University.

Hobbies: When I’m not in session, I like to spend my free time reading about psychology and business and training to level up my clinical skills. I love walking trails, where I can immerse myself in nature. I also like learning to day trade within the foreign currency markets, listening to old-school hip hop, and laughing at raunchy memes.
